BASIC FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITY: Under the direction of a certified Bilingual classroom teacher, assist, provide, prepare and manage instructional needs of English Learners.

Instructional Support:
- Assist teacher with daily classroom activities; prepare/modify activities; assist with independent study or lead small groups; and inform teacher of students’
- Support the improvement of
- Support and participate in meeting the objectives of the campus/department improvement plan.
- Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
- Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
- Provide orientation and assistance to Substitute Teacher during absence of Classroom Teacher.
Student Support:
- Assist in resolving parent/student issues and concerns in a timely
- Assist in managing student behavior in the classroom and common campus areas in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
Support of Administrative, Fiscal and/or Facilities Functions:
- Assist teacher with preparation of instructional equipment; ensure specific materials and supplies are ready; maintain safe instructional area; perform clerical duties and assist with operation of
- Provide assistance to campuses/departments as
- Assist with linguistic testing and identification of English Learners.
- Assist with LPAC processes and paperwork, including, but not limited to, filing and organization of LPAC folders.
- Assist with interpreting for bilingual parents and campus staff as needed.

- Support the administration of state-mandated testing at campuses in compliance with state and federal guidelines.

- Participate in team building activities and the decision-making process as
- Communicate and collaborate with campus/department staff to enhance service delivery and customer
Other Responsibilities:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of District, campus, and classroom policies and
- Knowledge of techniques used in assisting students with special needs.
- Knowledge of Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), First Aid and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS: Education equivalent to completion of 48 semester hours at an institution of higher education; or completion of an associate’s degree (or higher); or completion of a formal academic assessment. Three months of related experience is required.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS:
