BASIC FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITY: Assist students and teachers in the use of technology applications TEKS with computers and educational software in campus computer lab. Support an environment of digital responsibility and creation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Education equivalent to completion of 30 semester hours at an institution of higher education; or completion of an associate’s degree (or higher). Any exceptions to semester hours must be approved by the Director of Digital Learning.
- One year of experience working with children.
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of District, campus, and classroom policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of technology used in instructional settings.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications.
- Skill in delivering training to learners.
- Skill in utilizing general instructional strategies.
- Skill in applying classroom/student discipline management.
- Skill in communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Skill in operating and troubleshooting standard computer and software applications.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work responsibilities.

Instructional Support:
- Assist in providing pedagogically appropriate technology knowledge to students under the general supervision of a certified teacher or teaching team.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to identify student placement in instructional software.
- Input data and maintain physical and computerized files on student progress and use of instructional programs.
- Assist in delivering district-designed curriculum under the general supervision of a certified teacher or teaching team.
Student Support:
- Ensure students’ ability to login using district-provided credentials.
- Assist students in using computers, printers, and instructional software and websites.
- Assist in resolving parent/student issues and concerns in a timely manner.
- Assist in managing student behavior in the classroom and common campus areas in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
Support of Administrative, Fiscal and/or Facilities Functions:
- Assist teacher with the preparation of instructional equipment; ensure specific materials and supplies are ready; maintain safe instructional area; perform clerical duties and assist with the operation of equipment.
- Maintain computer lab in a neat and orderly manner, including bulletin boards and displays
- Provide assistance to campuses/departments as requested.
- Install a variety of computer programs following complex written instructions in labs.
- Detect and arrange for maintenance and repair of computer equipment in labs.

- Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; standard library equipment including imaging equipment; standard instruction equipment
